Spicy ramen noodles in white bowl picked by sticks.

Noodles are high in carbohydrates and give you instant energy when in a hurry. Are you minutes late for class, work, or an important event?

Noodles are a lifesaver in such situations. However, you may be struggling to choose between using a stove and microwave to prepare noodles.

Which one is faster? If your concern has been can you microwave ramen noodles, well, your answer is, YES, you can.

Before getting to the steps of preparing noodles, there are supplies you should have:

Ramen noodles, of course, water, salt, and your preferred noodles, herbs, or spices.

The best way to microwave noodles is straightforward and easy to follow.

Here is how.

How To Make Ramen In The Microwave

Red-white bowl of ramen noodles on a gray table.

Step 1: pour 2 cups of water in a microwave-safe bowl. The amount of water depends on the number of noodles you are preparing. If you are cooking more than a packet, you will use more than 2 cups.

Step 2: Place the bowl in the microwave, and let the water heat up for 2 minutes. Depending on how fast your microwave is, it may take up to 5 minutes.

Step 3: As the water heats up, decide how you would like your noodles. You can break them into smaller pieces but not too small. If not, then prepare them as they are without altering them in any way.

Step 4: Remove the bowl from the microwave. IT WILL BE HOT! Remember to protect your hands!

Step 5: Pour the water into the bowl with noodles until completely covered with water. Place the container back in the microwave and let the noodles cook for 2 minutes. When you go further than the 2 minutes, you risk having overcooked noodles. The taste is terrible.

Step 6: Remove the bowl from the microwave and then drain the water.

Step 7: Season the noodles with the flavoring that comes with them. You can add the other herbs you like for more flavor. Add a pinch of salt. Stir them to make sure the dish has an even distribution of ingredients.

Step 8: Time to eat, right? If you follow the steps well, then you are good to go. You can eat the noodles with some protein, such as fried or hard boiled eggs, for a better diet.

Precautions:

There are safety measures to keep in mind when microwaving noodles. For instance, ensure you use a microwave-friendly bowl. You do not want a bowl exploding in your face.

If not sure, get to the store and ask. Never wait for the water to boil. Microwaved water does not boil, but it can get scalding. Your job is to check the time set for boiling. Do not exceed it.

Ramen is a Japanese brand. If you want to prepare them like the Japanese, then follow the steps. You do not need to be a chef to make great noodles. Be safe, and use the right ingredients. Do not overcook them.
